AFTERNOON
Travel to Mammoth
Most families leave Thursday afternoon. Allow extra time for winter roads. Let teachers know ahead of time about Friday’s absence and any early departure Thursday.
Breakfast Friday and Saturday, self-serve Sunday, and dinner both ski nights. Thursday dinner is on your own. Evenings bring hot chocolate, s’mores, movies, games and crafts.
Mountain access
Village Gondola to Canyon Lodge. Back at the lodge: a heated pool, hot tubs and parking.
Help haul food and supplies; coordinate pickup before Thursday. Crew rule: ABC—Always Be Cleaning.
Prices & allowances
Room costs cover all three nights, even for shorter stays. These are planning allowances; final costs, taxes and fees will be confirmed and trued up closer to the trip.

Daily lift-ticket allowances are based on current group packages; final per-day cost depends on how many days you ski. Lesson rates remain subject to group confirmation.

First-timers and returning skiers are welcome. We recommend lessons Friday and Saturday for more practice, more laps and lift-line priority; kids are grouped by age and ability. Skiing and snowboarding are optional for dads.

Rental FAQ
Each family arranges and pays for its own rentals. Choose pickup near our condos, slopeside service, delivery or a fitting before the drive.
Standard, performance and demo gear. Mountain Center is in The Village; Canyon is reached by the Village Gondola. Main and Eagle are other slopeside options.
Get fitted at your lodging. Confirm Village Lodge service, appointment and return arrangements. Mammoth also lists hotel delivery at the Inn and Westin.
Get fitted in Fountain Valley before the drive. Ask about snow-clothing rentals as well as equipment. Phil’s in Costa Mesa is another local ski and snowboard rental option.
Book early and compare advance, consecutive-day and eligible Ikon discounts at checkout.
Mammoth lists pickup from 1–3:30 p.m. the day before, or from 8 a.m. on your first ski day. Allow at least one hour before lessons for fitting; confirm hours when booking.
Have each renter’s height, weight and shoe size ready. Complete the rental waiver and save your reservation barcode before arrival.
Confirm boots and helmet are included or added. Bring your own snow clothing and goggles; Mammoth does not rent winter clothing.
Mammoth’s on-hill shops allow exchanges and returns across locations, with limited overnight storage. Confirm your return plan before heading home.
One per family. Choose Yes when you’re confident you can attend—we use RSVPs to commit rooms. Still deciding? Choose Maybe. Edit through your confirmation email.
In December, the planning team will confirm your rooms, lift tickets and lessons before payment.
